Prozac must be used with caution in children with depression. Studies have shown occurrences of children thinking about suicide or attempting suicide in clinical trials for this medicine. More study i s needed to be sure Prozac is safe and effective in children.

Warning
Seizures:
Fluoxetine should be used with caution in patients with a history of convulsive disorders. The incidence of seizures associated with fluoxetine during clinical trials did not appear to d iffer from that reported with other marketed antidepressants; however, patients with a history of convulsive disorders were excluded from these trials.

Concurrent administration with electro shock therapy should be avoided because of the absence of experience in this area. There have been rare reports of a prolonged seizure in patients on fluoxetine receiving ECT treatment.
