Before Taking This Medicine
Children¡XStudies with the Soma have been done only in adult patients, and there is no specific information comparing use of these medicines in children with use in other age groups. However, Soma and
chlorzoxazone have been used in children. They have not been reported to cause different side effects or problems in children than they do in adults.

How to Use
Soma comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It usually is taken three times daily and at bedtime. It may be taken with or without food. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask
your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take Soma exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

What special precautions should I follow?
Tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially: - Epilepsy¡XConvulsions may be more likely to occur if methocarbamol is given by injection - Kidney disease or -
Liver disease or - Allergies, history of, or - Blood disease caused by an allergy or reaction to any other medicine, history of, or - Drug abuse or dependence, or history of, or -
Porphyria¡XDepending on which of the Soma you take, the chance of side effects may be increased; your doctor can choose a muscle relaxant that is less likely to cause problems

Special warnings about this medication
In rare cases, the first dose of Soma may cause unusual symptoms that appear within minutes or hours of taking the medication. Symptoms reported include: agitation, confusion, disorientation, dizzines
s, double vision, enlargement of pupils, extreme weakness, exaggerated feeling of well-being, lack of coordination, speech problems, temporary loss of vision, and temporary paralysis of arms and legs.
These symptoms usually subside within a few hours. If you experience any of them, contact your doctor immediately.
