Precautions while Using this Medicine
This medicine will add to the effects of alcohol and other central nervous system (CNS) depressants (medicines that cause drowsiness). Some examples of CNS depressants are antihistamines or medicine f
or hay fever, other allergies or colds: sedatives, tranquilizers, or sleeping medicines; prescription pain medicine or narcotics; barbiturates; medicine for seizures; muscle relaxants; or anesthetics,
including some dental anesthetics. Check with your doctor before taking any of the above while you are using this medicine.

Description
Sonata is prescribed for people who have trouble falling asleep at bedtime. Because it has a short duration of action, it doesn't help those who suffer from frequent awakenings during the night or tho
se who wake too early in the morning. It is intended only for short-term use (7 to 10 days).

Side Effects
Although side effects from Sonata are not common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
- drowsiness
- dizziness
- lightheadedness
- lack of coordination
- headache
- constipation
- dry mouth
- muscle aches
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
- skin rash
- itching
- fast or irregular heartbeat
- chest pain
- difficulty breathing
- fever
- behavior changes or acting differently
- mental confusion
- a
bnormal thinking or dreams
- hallucinations
- depression
- worsening of insomnia
- problems with memory

Proper Use of This Medicine
Take this medicine only as directed by your doctor. Do not take more of it, do not take it more often, and do not take it for a longer time than your doctor ordered. If too much is taken, it may becom
e habit-forming (causing mental or physical dependence).
Take Sonata just before going to bed, when you are ready to go to sleep. This medicine works very quickly to put you to sleep.
Do not take this medicine when your schedule does not permit you to get at least 4 hours of sleep.If you must wake up before this, you may continue to feel drowsy and may experience memory problems
, because the effects of the medicine have not had time to wear off.

Symptoms of overdose
An overdose of drugs such as Sonata can be fatal. If you suspect an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

Drowsiness, mental confusion,
grogginess, lack of coordination, flaccid muscles, labored breathing, coma
